My dad brought over a bit of his bunker crop of cucumbers the other day. After a few cucumber sandwiches, cucumber salad, and a frig cold pack of pickles, I decided to try making caned pickels. It was quite easy!

I just used a modified version of these directions. www.pickyourown.org I added some extra turmeric, red peppers, and other spices.  In short, you just soak them in salt water for 12 hours, cut them up, add a seasoning broth, and can in the canner! I did not remember to add grape leaves though(they make the cucumbers more crunchy).

My pickles! I need to take a better picture, this was a quickie with my cell phone in low light. Works for now....
